Weekend Update

It’s been a crazy start to the New Year. I don’t know if you knew, but over holiday periods our show schedule changes to accommodate the holidays. Usually it’s Tuesday to Sunday with matinees on the weekend also. But for the last 2 weeks we have had matinees on Thursday, Saturday, Sunday and then a matinee show only on Monday! That’s a lot of shows in a row for any performer!
With some sickness and holidays as well, we’ve had some of the covers playing different roles which is always fun. It’s really refreshing to have covers on sometimes because it keeps your mind fresh and you on your toes. (Is there a saying for “on your toes” in German?)
My wife and I spent Christmas in Munich and the New Years at my in-law’s house near Frankfurt. Our dog Comfrey always gets a little bit nervous with fireworks, but he was actually pretty good this year! He’s growing up :-)
So, it’s currently Sunday which means we have 2 shows today and then because of the holidays we have one show tomorrow, but then we have Tuesday off - and I can’t wait! I LOVE my job but it’s also hard work and you always need some rest. And I will definitely rest haha.
If you’re planning on coming to the show next week, I won’t be performing the matinee performance on Saturday 11th. Kees will be playing Prince Hans and I will be watching the show! I saw Die Eiskönigin 3 times in Hamburg and I can’t wait to watch it again!

Yes that can be very confusing… even for me!
Well, for me on tuesday 2 weeks „holidays“ ends sadly🥲 but I knew that there are monday shows etc (maybe because I was there on monday and will be there tomorrow too hahahaha) but I can completely imagin that it‘s hard🙈 we had 2 rehearsals with our orchestra this week and if you never play on 2 following days thats tough too😂😂
But you can be happy now, I guess the next time with special holidays is eastern, because I think Faschingsferien won‘t change much🤔
Fun fact: when you follow all these musical peeps on IG (like I do😉) you get confused, too. Someone posted "tomorrows martinee ist this and that" and I thought "Ah great, tomorrow is Saturday" untill you notice it's the Holiday show timetable and tomorrow ist actually Thursday and you have to go to work 😂😂 that was me the whole two weeks. And the translation for "keep you on your toes" is "auf Trab halten" 😉
