5 - SUNSET BOULEVARD
As some of you know, I used to manage the coffee shop Notes Coffee near Trafalgar Square in London. It was during my last few months there that I got a call to audition for the UK Tour of Sunset Boulevard, to play the role of Manfred. If you know the show, Manfred sings the song "The Lady's Paying" (a song which is sadly sometimes cut from current contemporary productions of this musical).
I remember finishing my shift at the coffee shop and going straight to the audition in Covent Garden - only a 5 minute walk from the coffee shop. I sang my audition song "Breezin' Thru Another Day" from The Wild Party (a great song, listen to it). Then we spoke for a few minutes and I left. Then barely 5 minutes after I got home, I got a call from my agent to tell me I had gotten the part. This was the quickest I'd ever gotten cast in a show.
This show was so amazing as not only is it an incredible musical, but I had some great moments to shine on stage.

4 - WE WILL ROCK YOU
I'm pretty sure you already know the story of how I got this job. But in summary, this job helped me improve as a performer so much. It also taught me how to focus on details and prepare for sitatuations like stepping in for the lead role last minute.
My first time playing Galileo was the evening show of a 2-show day. After the matinee, the lead called out sick and I had just over an hour to prepare. Thankfully, I went over my lines and songs and movement and dancing every single day, so I knew everything I needed to do. And stepping out onto the stage for that very first time was an exeprience that can't be matched.
I know that they've updated the musical with new sets, costumes, script... but the original production that I did was THE BEST and it's a shame no one will ever see that version again. I'm sure new productions are amazing as well.

3 - DIE EISKÖNIGIN
Do I really need to explain myself here? I'm a Disney Prince. What can be better than that!? Haha.

2 - TANZ DER VAMPIRE
Again, I'm not sure what else I can say right now about this show. I'm sure you already know.

1 - SINGIN' IN THE RAIN
This musical was my first lead role in an amateur production when I was 17 years old. I've always loved the movie Singin' In The Rain and Gene Kelly - in fact, he's the reason why I started tap dancing.
Sadly, the Playhouse Theatre in Perth where we performed this was demolished about 10 years after, but the momories are still there. I still think it's possibly the best time I've had in a rehearsal room.
I have a recording of the show but I'm too scared to watch it, because, as much as I like to think I was amazing, I probably wasn't. I had only been singing and doing musical theatre for a few years, so I barely knew anything. But it was so much fun. No show will ever be able to compare to how amazing an experience that was and how much it meant to me.

Having just seen the current Danish production of We Will Rock You, I got super interested in the original version, as I am wondering how much has changed (besides of course some jokes being rewritten for cultural reasons)!
But besides that this is a strong line up of shows I absolutely love the 4 of them I’ve seen and Sunser Boulevard is on my list of a show I will watch if I ever get near it!
