Simon von Krolock - Tanz der Vampire

As it as been just over 3 months since we last played Tanz der Vampire and also my last performances as Graf von Krolock, I thought I'd post some of the videos that were sent to me.

Note: I don't approve of people filming live theatre - I think regardless of the show, it's wrong and live theatre should be lived in the moment. Also, there are announcements at the beginning of the show to say that you're not allowed to film.

HAVING SAID THAT... Tanz der Vampire is a special show. It's a cult show. It's a show that isn't just a one-off experience, it's a show that people live and breathe and become a part of just as much as the performers. From dressing up as your favourite character, to becomming fans of specific performers and discussions on who your dream cast is... it's all of this and more that makes this show and everyone's experience of it so special. So, when people send us videos or photos from this show, in my opinion it means something different. This doesn't mean it isn't distracting to see people holding up phones during the show, because it still is, but I guess I accept it a little more with Tanz.

Here are 3 videos that were sent to me. This specific performance was during a week when both Rob and Christoph were on holiday or sick and I was also sick, but I was well enough to get through an 8-show week. So, videos from this week mean a lot to me because it was a week where I proved to myself that I could achieve anything if I believed in it hard enough. I believed that no matter how sick I felt or bad my voice felt, I would give the best performance of Krolock that I possible could - for you, the audience.

As always, enjoy :-)

To be honest I hate people filming in a musical. I understand it in a concert (a moment, not the whole concert) but in the musical I really hate it. Perhaps it's just bc I really love beeing in this specific world that is created by all the people on and off stage and it's smashing down this magic seeing people filming. But it's only my opinion. With that said, I adored your performances in Tanz and would say they developed A LOT. Tanz will always have a special place in my heart-with this contract even more 🦇🫶🏼

Well… I guess it really depends on why the videos were taken… I think some people do them to collect it as a memory for them self (I can‘t imagine doing it, because it would distract myself from the musical, therefor the tickets are to expensive) but I think a lot of people also did them for attention… to post them on tiktok etc, then it‘s a absolute no go in my opinion…

And especially Tanz is a musical with a very toxic fan bubble, I guess from the other side you don‘t really got deep insights in the fandom, but yeah… if somebody would care about rules etc they would never send you videos…

But I can tell you there are a lot of Eiskönigin Videos existing too, I saw a lot of filming people in the audience
