Amateur to Professional

One of the suggestions I had for content for this page was to explain a bit more about how I went from an Amateur to a Professional. I think I'll do a video on this, but in the meantime, here's a sort of timeline of my life as a performer.
In 2001 I started taking weekly acting classes at a TV and Film agency in Perth. I was 12 years old.
Around that same time I joined the Western Australian Youth Theatre Company and started doing classes, workshops and shows. I performed in many different shows with them up until around 16 years old. During that whole time I was also taking tap dancing classes.
My first big musical I performed in was Footloose when I was 15. This was at a school for girls called Perth College. They always needed guys for their shows, so they hired me through the Youth Theatre Company I was a member of. Up until then I had only performed in plays and had a few jobs on TV.
Between 15 and 21 years old I performed in about 3-5 different shows every year. I also did some TV commercials, singing gigs, concerts and cabarets etc.
I studied Musical Theatre from 2009 - 2011 at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts. This is the same academy Hugh Jackman studied acting in the 90's. Many great performers studied there.
In 2012 I moved to London to study Musical Theatre at the Royal Academy of Music. We graduated in 2013 and I got my first agent in London.
In 2014 I got my first job called The World of Musicals which toured Germany.
In 2015 I got my second job called The 12 Tenors which also toured Germany.
In 2017 I got my third job called Sunset Boulevard which toured the UK.
In 2018 I got my fourth job called We Will Rock You and this was on the Royal Caribbean cruise ship Anthem of the Seas.
Between 2012 and 2022 I was always performing in concerts and cabarets in London and Germany and any time I wasn't performing, I was working in coffee shops, making enough money so I could pay the rent.
Then in 2023 I moved to Hamburg with my wife and I got my first German musical Tanz der Vampire.
When that closed in 2024, I started rehearsals on Die Eiskönigin in Stuttgart.
Like I said, I'd love to record a video to talk about this more, so maybe that will be my goal for the next couple of days.
I had many headshots during this time, but these are from 2009, 2013, 2019 and 2023.
Sx
Do you have any videos of the tv performances/spots? I am curios now ! 😁
